Fall River art exhibit sheds new light on the city

Posted: Updated:
A new art exhibit shot entirely by high school and college students is shedding a new light on Fall River.

More than 200 images are currently on display at the Narrows Center for the Arts.

The images were shot by students at BMC Durfee High School and UMass Dartmouth.

The project was meant to help students better understand the people and the community of Fall River.

"I really want people to come in here and see that even though Fall River isn't the same as it used to be, there are still a lot of beautiful things,” said UMass Dartmouth student Deanna Filsinger. “There are still great things and there's people that are hard working and really good people. I just want people to feel pride in the city of Fall River."

Many of the students say their perceptions of the city changed in the months they worked on the project.
