Firefighters battle 2 alarm fire in Central Falls

Central Falls dealt with a 2 alarm fire at 661 Pine Street late this afternoon.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire just before 5:30. No one was hurt.

"There was heavy fire upon our arrival.  Firefighters were inside for an extensive period of time, but the fire was getting away from us so at that point for safety reasons were ordered out," said Chief Robert Bradley.

Around 21 people were displaced according to the fire department.

"It was scary to me.  I just saw flames that's all I saw.  I felt like I was like I was gonna die," said resident Tayna Gaumond.

Part of the roof did collapse onto utility wires and homes on Dexter Street with be without power for a couple of hours as a result.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
