Providence Mayoral candidate Brett Smiley wants to tax your guns and ammo.

Brett Smiley introduced his "guns and ammunition tax bill" at the state house today.

Under the bill, all guns and ammunition sold in the state would be subject to a 10 percent supplemental sales tax.

All the money collected from the tax, would go to non–profits like project night vision and the Billy Taylor house that are committed to fighting crime and violence.

The tax is expected to raise about 2 million dollars a year.
