8 people are left without a home after a fire destroyed a 3-story house in Providence.

It started right around 11 Saturday morning at 56-58 Warrington St.

Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Joseph Desmarais tells ABC6 that when firefighters arrived on-scene they found heavy flames on the first floor and were able to contain it there, but the entire home has smoke and water damage.

The 7 adults and 1 child inside were all able to get out safely with no injuries. Red Cross was called to assist them.

1 firefighter did suffer a hand injury.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
