The fate of the Warwick High School could be decided Tuesday. The School Committee is set to vote on a plan that could also bring major changes through the school district. The potential changes are being recommended by the Long Term Facilities Planning Committee.
The proposal under consideration includes closing veterans memorial high school at the end of the year. The building would then be re purposed as a junior high with Gorton and Aldrich junior highs shutting down in 2015.
The committee already held two public informational sessions on the topic, both of which had a high turnout, although not everyone got the chance to speak.
Under the plan returning Vets HS students, those who aren't graduating, would be moved to other high schools in the city.
The meeting will be held at 7 PM at Toll Gate High School. According to the agenda posted on the districts web site the board will vote then recommend actions.
