PROVIDENCE, RI- It's recommended that you get your tires checked before going into the winter season.
Things you should look for are having enough tread depth on all tires, air pressure, and if you should switch to snow tires.
The right tire for your car depends on your specific needs. For those who travel north to parts of Massachusetts and beyond, snow tires are recommended.
This time of year gets busy for tire companies.
Sean Cameron, manager at Town Fair Tire said, "People hear snow, they fear. We do want to make sure they have good traction especially for the winter, cause that's the most important thing especially if there's a lot of people driving on the roads. So, safety is definitely most important. It's definitely gonna get busier, you know a little slow today, but with the snow coming tomorrow, it should be a lot busier for the company."
Also, keep an eye on fluid levels in your car including switching to windshield wiper fluid that contains deicer. It's good to have your ice scrappers or defrosting equipment inside your home or office. If it's locked inside your vehicle, then it's useless.
