Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino's game-winning grand slam ball sold yesterday for a whopping $18,840.
That October 19 grand slam sent the Sox to the World Series.
Nick Wood, a senior at URI, was the lucky fan who caught the ball at Fenway and decided to put it on the auction block.
Bidding ended yesterday on the online auction site 'SCP Auctions' based out of California.
12 bids were made in total, starting at $5,000.
