Rhode Island State Police cracking down on drunk driving made five arrests on Friday, including one wrong-way driver.

Just after 1:00 a.m. Friday, State Police received a call reporting a wrong-way driver on 95 North in Richmond.

Just minutes later, a two-car crash was reported involving that same driver.

That driver, Karen Franklin, 50, of Warwick, was arrested and charged with drunk driving.

Both Franklin and the driver of the second car were treated for minor injuries.

State Police arrested four others for drunk driving: two in Providence, one in Cranston, and one in North Kingstown.

They were all held overnight, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released pending future court appearances.
