UPDATE: Stolen SUV crashes into Woonsockets 1st catholic church

Officials made an arrest on Wednesday after an 18-year old led police on a foot chase.

Woonsocket police were in pursuit of stolen SUV, when police tried to pull it over, the driver took off at nearly 75 mph before losing control and crashing into a parked car and slamming into the St. Charles Catholic Church.

After slamming into the Church all three individuals inside the SUV  made a run for it, Jalen Abney was caught blocks away from the scene.

Abney claims he was in the vehicle but was not the person behind the wheel, the two other individuals fled the scene. The incident remains under investigation and officials say they do expect to make other arrest.

Abney is being held at the ACI and will appear in court on Monday December 2nd.
