Police executed a search warrant on a Chinese restaurant in Westerly after several patrons became victims of credit card fraud.
Westerly Police say that while investigating dozens of complaints regarding fraudulent credit and debit card purchases they recognized that each of the victims had used the card at the China Buffet restaurant.
Each of the victims were in possession of their cards when the fraudulent purchases were made.
As a result of the investigation police obtained a search warrant and seized credit card scanner, computers, cash registers, and other electronic equipment. No arrests have been made in the matter yet but detectives say after an investigation they expect to charge several individuals involved.
China Buffet remains open but on Thursday evening it operated on a cash only basis.
