A multi-family home in Pawtucket, that exploded earlier this week, has been demolished. Crews knocked down what was left of the home Wednesday night. By Thursday morning all that remained was massive pile of rubble.
The apartment building, on Mineral Spring Ave., exploded Tuesday morning, causing chaos and injuring two people.
The nearby roadways were immediately shut down as a safety precaution. They are now back open.
Neighbors are happy to see the home come down, and their community return to normalcy.
"Just kept staring at the sky oh what would happen if that building fell will I die would the house collapse on top of me would I live through it," one neighbor told ABC6 News.
"I want to get it over with just finish it let it have a flat ground and be over with," said another.
Investigators have concluded that what ever caused the explosion came from inside the building.
The home was up to code, and has a current occupancy license.
The city will continue to investigate, looking to the buildings owner and contractor to see if they cut any corners or violated any rules.
