New Bedford Police say the suspect in the "Puppy Doe" animal abuse case is also wanted for stealing from a New Bedford Church.

Between January and April of 2012 Radoslaw Czerkawski, 32, was staying at the St. Lawrence Church on Summer Street in New Bedford. Authorities say he was hoping to become a Pastor. Czerkawski left the church un April saying he was heading to Canada.

In May of 2012 the church noticed unauthorized transactions in three accounts and reported it to police. Eleven checks were stolen from the rectory and cashed under Czerkawski's name and another name. The theft exceeded $6,000.

Czerkawski was arrested in New Britain Connecticut for torturing and beating a dog that was euthanized after being found in near death condition in Quincy.
