A Massachusetts man arrested over the weekend for sex trafficking of a minor appeared before a judge on Monday.
26-year-old Anthony Pledger was arrested on Friday after he was discovered to be in the company of a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing in Brockton Mass., at 12:30 a.m. Also present was a 16-year-old girl from Malden Mass., who was also reported missing.
Police located Pledger and the teenagers at the apartment of 20-year-old Emma Schnorr of Jewett Street in Providence.
Police say that Pledger met the 15-year-old on social media and arranged to meet her on Thursday near her home. Police further alleged Pledger and teenager spent Thursday night at the Providence apartment before heading to Boston to pick up the girl's friend. The three then returned to Providence and Pledger offered to give the girls clothing and money if the performed sexual acts for money. The girls refused to comply and asked Pledger to bring them back to Massachusetts. Pledger refused. The 15-year-old girl alleges that Pledger sexually assaulted her in Massachusetts and inside the Providence apartment.
Schnorr the apartments tenant was arrested for obstructing police by denying the presence of the 15-year-old girl inside the apartment when police arrived at her door. Police also found her to be in possession of crack-cocaine. In her residence they discovered Oxycodone, cocaine and $4582.00 in cash. Schnorr was released on $10,000 bail with surety and ordered to reside with her mother in Wellesley Mass.
Pledger is also being sought as a potential witness to a murder in Boston.
