Vincent Lisi, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Division, along with Colonel Timothy Alben of the Massachusetts State Police and Commissioner Edward Davis of the Boston Police released a statement recently to clarify accusations made by the media.
The FBI, Massachusetts state police, Boston police, and members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force did not know anything of the Tsarnaev brothers before the Boston Marathon bombings.
Their identities were not even known until the finger prints of Tamerlan Tsarnaev were taken soon after his death.
The J.T.T.F. did not have the Tsarnaev brothers on surveillance at all before the shootings.
The FBI and police want to clearly state that there was no prior knowledge or surveillance of the suspects before the bombings and that any statements that contradict are in fact false.
