Local contractors are offering to work for free in order to fix a public pool in Providence.
The Davey Lopes pool never opened this summer after Mayor Angel Tavares decided it cost too much to repair and operate.
Now a group of local contractors are offering to do the work at no charge that is if the city covers the ten thousand dollars that they will need in materials.
A spokesperson for Mayor Angel Tavares offices say that there are many factors for the pool being closed. Including low usage, on-going expenses, bad condition and high cost to fix up.
