Neighbors desperate for answers in Fairhaven woman's death
By Alexandra Cowley
A quiet street in Fairhaven is shaken by the discovery of a 68-year-old woman's body on Hamlet St. Tuesday afternoon.
Neighbor Steve Estrela says, "People come here to get away from things, but things happen in different spots, it just happens to be our turn I guess."
Fairhaven Police say they were called to the home around 11:00 Tuesday morning... after a friend went to check on the woman and found her body.
The woman didn't show for plans she had the previous night.
"She was my sons teacher third grade teacher and she's been quiet, never bothered anybody."
Neighbors are bothered that they don't have answers.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says they don't yet know how the woman died.
Neighbor Greg Correia says, "Hopefully it's not something random where it's somebody you don't know just out In the neighborhood or something like that."
Greg Correia and his friend went for a walk to see if they could find out what exactly happened here.
But the answers they're looking for won't come out until after an autopsy is done.
"I'll be waiting to hear what's going on now I mean it's just a scary thing lock the doors and windows tonight and just hope they do something if it is an actual crime that they find out what's going on."
The District Attorney's Office say the autopsy will be done Wednesday which may prove the death is suspicious.
