Two guns and several rounds of ammunition were seized at an apartment in Fall River on Thursday.
Fall River Police and the Southeastern Gang Task Force, along with members of the FBI and Massachusetts State Police, showed up to 63 Hargraves St on an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Phirith Thorng.
In the apartment they found ammunition, and after obtaining a search warrant they found a loaded Mossberg 12 gauge pump action shotgun, several rounds of .380 caliber ammunition and shotgun shells, and one round of .357 caliber ammunition. The team also found a revolver type handgun.
Fall River Mayor William A. Flanagan states,
"Once again I commend the Gang Task Force and the law enforcement partners for
their good work. Their combined efforts and persistence have taken two more
illegal guns off the streets of Fall
River, making our City a safer place".
Thorng was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of a shotgun without F.I.D., possession of ammunition without F.I.D., and improper storage of a firearm.
