State Police seize 250 grams of heroin

Rhode Island State Police have arrested a Providence man after seizing approximately 250 grams of heroin.

Enrique Lopez, age 32, was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court Wednesday after the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Task Force executed a search warrant at 161 Chapin Street.

The seized 250 grams of heroin is estimated to have a street value of $20,000. Police also found ten grams of cocaine in the home

Lopez's residence is located six hundred feet from The Trinity Performing Arts Academy.

The suspect is being charged with:

1)Possession of Heroin 1 Ounce - 1 Kilogram 2) Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver 3) Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver 4) Distribution of a controlled substance in a School Zone 5) Three (3) Family Court Reciprocal Body Attachment warrants for non- support.

Lopez was ordered to be held without bail until a bail hearing on October 23, 2013.
