A retired Pawtucket Police officer admitted to stealing gas from the Pawtucket Department of Public Works.
Ken Provost said he did take gas from the city but it was a mistake.
He pleaded no contest in court to the charges and was ordered to pay the city back $682 for the gas and was given one–year–probation.
Provost was caught filling personal vehicles with gas from the city in August.
In September he submitted his retirement to the Pawtucket Police Department.
