Scarborough Beach in Narragansett was a popular place Wednesday.
People ABC6 spoke with say they weren't letting the summerlike day go to waste. Temperatures reached into the 80s for a period of time during the day.
"I love it, I love it ya know. What a way to end the summer and to be here on my favorite beach can't beat it," said Claire Smith.
Smith and her friend Doris Colon drove down from Worcester to enjoy the beach.
"We are very surprised we thought we'd be the only ones here, but this is great I like to see this," said Colon.
"They say we are gonna have a bad winter so I am gonna try to take all this. If they have another day I'll take it," said Smith.
Down the road, the line was long at Iggy's Chowder House.
"On days like today usually brings everyone out," said manger Carlos Soares who went on to say "It's a good way to finish the last week of the year."
Many people ABC6 tried to talk with were hesitant because they called in sick to enjoy the unusually warm day.
