A Massachusetts State Trooper accused of operating under the influence and other charges that led to the death of two women has been suspended without pay indefinitely according to Massachusetts State Police. Trooper John Basler was suspended this morning after the completion of a duty status hearing.

The hearing was scheduled after the Plymouth Police Department notified State Police late last week that they intend to file charges against Basler.

Basler was injured in the crash and did not attend this morning's hearing but was represented by counsel.

The investigation is still ongoing and State Police are offering no further comment at this time.
