Employees at the U.S. Attorney's office in Rhode Island are being hit hard by the government shutdown.
On a daily basis one third to half of the employees will be furloughed said spokesperson Jim Martin.
Martin said on a weekly basis U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha will take a look at on-going matters and on-going investigations and make staffing determinations accordingly.
On Tuesday, the first day of the government shutdown, Martin said 11 prosecutors and a large number of the administrative staff, were furloughed.
The office currently employs 45 individuals.
