October marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Breast Cancer is a serious disease in our state. One out of every six women in Rhode Island will be diagnosed during her lifetime, and breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Rhode Island women.

Monday, October 1st, the foundation is introducing its Starfish Project at Providence Place Mall at 10 a.m.
The Flames of Hope event is now in its eighth year. More than 100,000 people attend. It takes place during Columbus Day weekend on October 11-13 this year.
