WOONSOCKET - A shoot out occurred inside a Woonsocket home early this morning, during a robbery attempt.
Two men were arrested.
27 year old Tyrone Seams and 21 year old David Bunnel were caught inside 65 West Park Place after neighbors called police, saying they heard gunshots.
Police say the two went to the apartment to steal drugs and money.
"During the robbery, multiple gunshots were fired inside the apartment... resulting in three people being injured," said Captain Edward Lee of the Woonsocket Police Department.
Four guns were recovered from the scene.
Police say one of the men arrested had life threatening injuries...and another person who was in the house at the time is in serious condition.
The tenant of the apartment, Keinan McKenna, was also treated for minor injuries.
He faces drug charges.
Police Chief Thomas Carey explained how the situation could have been much worse, had the gunfire not been contained to the apartment:
"Unlike police officers most of these individuals aren't trained, so they don't consider field of fire...so fortunately tonight no one else outside this building was injured...any other residents or neighbors."
The Woonsocket Police Department is encouraging anyone aware of any drug activity in the area to call their anonymous tip line, to ensure that incidents like this don't happen again in the future.
