NORWOOD, Mass. (AP) Transit police say a young man has died after being struck by a commuter train in Norwood.

MBTA police said the man was trespassing on tracks near Washington and Dean Street when he was struck by a Franklin Line train at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man appeared to be in his late 20s.

The 25 to 30 passengers on the train were not hurt and were transferred to buses. The eastbound train originated in Forge Park and had been due in Boston shortly after 5 p.m.
