Mosquitoes trapped in the Great swap in West Kingston were tested positive for EEE, this is the first time this season that EEE has popped up, while others tested positive for West Nile virus.
The mosquitoes infected with EEE are the kind that bite humans, but the ones with West Nile feed only on birds.
Rhode Island has not had any human cases of either virus this year.
