NARRAGANSETT, RI- The man who died in a house fire in Narragansett has been identifed as 52 year old Daniel Bresnahan, of Exeter.

The fire broke out in a back room of the home on Algonquin Road around 10 PM Friday night.  When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with heavy smoke.  They found Mr. Bresnahan inside, and transported him to South County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the fire was started by the improper disposal of smoking material.  The state fire marshal's office is helping Narragansett officials with the investigation.

Bresnahan was married with two children.  An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
