An overnight fire in Smithfield in under investigation. Flames broke out of a single family home on Williams Road after midnight. The homeowners had been sleeping, but managed to safely escape.

Crews say the house was fully involved when they arrived. The flames started in the back and the home partially collapsed.

Firefighters had to lay out nearly half a mile of house to get water to the house because there were not hydrants.

No one was injured. According to Chief Robert Seltzer the fire is believed to have been accidental and electrical in nature.
