Friday wasn't the perfect beach day, it was mostly cloudy and pretty breezy but the weather didn't stop nearly 100 people from showing up at Scarborough Beach for free skin cancer screenings.

After a quick questionnaire, you could get in line to meet with one six doctors for head-to-toe screenings. Dr. Gladys Telang from University Dermatology explains that skin cancer is the number one cancer in the US. She says she looks for the "A-B-C-D-E-F-G's" of skin cancer. "Something that's asymmetric, the borders growing, the colors vary, the diameter is bigger than a pencil eraser, it's elevated, firm, growing."

The screenings only take about 5-10 minutes. Many people had put off going to a dermatologist and when they saw the free screenings decided to sign up, even the lifeguards signed up.

If the doctors found something that was suspicious, they recommended a follow up.
