Despite their financial issues, the city of Pawtucket is getting a new fire engine. It is set to begin working in about ten days once all four department shifts undergo training.

The engine costs $450,000, and has features the others do not, including a special compartment for medicine and the Jaws of Life. The truck will also carry tools such as rescue saws, stabilizers for tipped over vehicles, cutting torches, etc, making this vehicle first choice for all major emergencies.

It is set to begin working in about ten days once all four department shifts undergo training. Training began on Monday in the McCoy stadium parking lot, and will be completed on July 12th.
