PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Police are investigating after a man was shot dead on Clym Street early Saturday morning, an act of violence that police have ruled a homicide.
According to police, they were called to the scene of a wounded man near Clym and June Streets around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, where they found a man with at least one gunshot wound.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died. Police say that the incident may be tied to criminal gangs operating in the city, but so far there have been no arrests.
As of Saturday afternoon, a makeshift memorial started to form near the scene of where the man was shot.
Several neighbors declined to speak with ABC6 News. ABC6 will post new details as they are uncovered.
