The tide has changed for a man wanted for kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery in New Bedford.

Police say they apprehended 32-year-old Jason Gaudencio after he allegedly stole 6 containers of Tide detergent from the Market Basket on Sawyer Street on Tuesday. He then ran from the store, jumped into a pick-up truck in the parking lot and told the driver to "drive away" or he would "F*** him up."

Gaudencio is believed to have jumped out of the vehicle a short distance from the store then fled on foot.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon after police released surveillance images of him to the media and received several tips identifying him.
