It was déjà vous for many residents along area rivers on Thursday as another round of rain hit Southeastern New England. Both the Pawtuxet and Pawcatuck rivers continued to rise over their banks, putting homeowners in danger of flooding.

"The police chief came over and said if the water gets any higher I'll have to evacuate," said Robert Gelanis.

His home normally sits about 50 feet from the banks of the Pawcatuck River in Ashaway, but the water is now sloshing up against his house.

It was the same story along the Pawtuxet River on Thursday. At river point park in West Warwick, the normally slow-moving stretch of river had expanded at least 20 feet on either side.
