A suspect in a New Bedford robbery is giving a new meaning to the words a clean get away.

New Bedford Police are looking for a man who stole 6 containers of Tide detergent from a local supermarket then carjacked a man in the parking lot.

At 1 p.m. on Tuesday loss prevention at the Market Basket on Sawyer Street chased the suspect who was in possession of stolen tide from the store.

In the parking lot the suspect jumped into the truck of a 31-year-ol Fairhaven man and told him to drive away or he would "f*** him up."

The man then drove towards the rear of the building and headed west on Sawyer Street. There the suspect jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot toward Belleville Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male around 30 years-old with a muscular build.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Steven Wadman at 508-991-6300 ext. 132.
