Westerly Police confirm a man was arrested early Wednesday morning for trespassing on Taylor Swift's Westerly home.
The 22-year-old man was found by police around 2:15 a.m.
Earlier it was reported that the man had swam to the 23-year-old singer's property on Bluff Avenue in an attempt to meet her. However a press release from Westerly police indicates that police found the suspect, identified as Lucas Vorsteveld of Chicago, Illinois, walking on Lighthouse Road, a private drive.
He told police he was "out for a walk."
TMZ.com maintains that the man was actually spotted in the water trying to swim to the waterfront of her home.
Police say that Vorsteveld was spotted during a land check by the Watch Hill Lighthouse.
Vorsteveld was arrested and taken to the Westerly Police station and charged with the misdemeanor offense of trespassing. Police say they have contacted the country singer's security team about the matter.
Swift bought an ocean front in Watch Hill at the end of April for $17.5 million cash.
TMZ.com was the first to break the news.
