Two store clerks in Fall River fought off armed intruders using a hammer and a chair, Friday night.

The surveillance video from the "ruby convenience store" shows two masked men threatening the clerks with knives, demanding cash.

One of the workers pulls out a hammer and used it to knock the knife right out of the hand of one of the thugs.

The other grabs a chair and throws it sending the suspects scrambling for the door.

The two workers told abc6 they didn't have time to be afraid, they just reacted.

"It's one of those things where you just think about yourself, defend yourself and worry about everything else after," said store clerk Alan Viveiros. "It went real fast.  It was more self defense than anything."

As the masked men took off one of the clerks rushed around the counter chased them out, then got into his car to follow them.

Neither the worker nor police were able to catch them.
