Burial Battle Over Terrorist's Body Continues

Protesters once again gathered outside the Worcester funeral home where Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev body was prepared for burial.

The problem is many people don't want him buried in Massachusetts, or anywhere else in the U.S.

Worcester protester Ramon Bello said, "Take it out. Take it out of the country, the United States!"

The funeral director agrees that it would be best to ship the corpse to Tsarnaev's native Russia,  but that's not the funeral homes obligation.

Funeral director Peter Stefan said, "I think the uncle would like to do that. I think the parents would like to do that. And I think the USA would like to see us do that. But at the immediate moment, basically this is what we have."

ABC6 Chief Political Reporter Mark Curtis said, "One of the suggestions is that the U.S. Military take Tamerlan Tsarnaev body out to sea and bury it, much like they did after killing Osama bin Laden."

Tamerlan's widow, Katherine Russell of North Kingstown, chose not to claim his body.

She deferred to her late husband's family.

Some want the government to get the body out of the U.S., but on a visit to New Bedford, Governor Deval Patrick disagreed.

Gov. Deval Patrick said, "Well you know, first of all, this isn't a state or a federal issue. It's a family issue. And the family has some options. I assume they will make some decisions soon. I hope they do."

So the terrorist burial battle continues, three weeks after the Boston marathon bombings.
