It's a historic day for Rhode Island as Governor Lincoln Chafee has signed the same-sexed marriage bill into law.
Earlier on Thursday, the amended bill passed the House floor. The changes made to the bill by the Senate were approved in the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
Chafee marked the passing of same-sexed marriage, a bill that he has championed since taking office, with a special signing ceremony outside the Statehouse.
