Barrington Police have arrested a man linked to one of the over two dozen attempted breakings and enterings in the Barrington area over the past couple of months.
Police Chief John LaCrosse said that they identified Robert Audette after he sold 10 rings to two Warwick pawn shops. Audette has addresses in both Warwick and Woonsocket.
The rings were reported stolen from a Barrington home on April 4 and Lacrosse said they were identified when the pawn shops ran them through the G.E.M.S. database and they came up stolen.
Barrington Police in conjunction with Warwick Police were able to apprehend Audette after the jewelry was sold. The rings were recovered and Audette has been charged with breaking and entering.
Audette has a past criminal record including larceny and break in charges.
Lacrosse said the investigation continues to determine whether Audette is connected to the slew of other break-ins or attempted break-ins in the area.
