The owners of a local family-run pub in Providence are in trouble with the law after police say the mother-daughter duo were doing more than serving drinks.

Olivia Goncalves, 63, and her daughter 41-year-old Linda Goncalves owners of Olivia's Pub at 1157 Eddy Street were allegedly running a cocaine trafficking ring out the bar.

On Wednesday evening the mother daughter duo were duped by State Police when they sold narcotics to an undercover officer.

The two were arrested and police subsequently executed a search warrant of the pub and the women's home uncovering 26 individually wrapped bags of cocaine at the bar, and digital scales, packaging materials and close to $5,000 in cash at the home.

Mother and daughter appeared side-by-side in court on Thursday to be arraigned on drug trafficking charges.

Olivia was charged with 3 counts of delivery of cocaine to a police officer, possession of cocaine and conspiracy with intent to deliver cocaine. Linda faced one count of each charge.

The pair won't be serving patrons at the bar anytime soon because the judge ordered them held without bail. They return to court on April 23 for a bail review.

State Police say the arrests are the result of a two month investigation in a "high-intensity" drug trafficking area.
