CRANSTON, R.I. - Police are searching for a 43 year-old Cranston man who escaped custody Saturday night and remains at large after a SWAT team surrounded his house in an attempt to capture him, but did not find him there.
Police say around 8 p.m. Saturday, they were attempting to apprehend a man, but somehow the man escaped police custody and fled back to his home at 53 Normandy Drive.
Police have not yet disclosed what the man was wanted for.
After the man fled police custody, police called in a SWAT team to surround his home. After entering the home, police determined that the man wasn't inside.
Police say the suspect remains at large and is considered dangerous, but police are actively searching for him. As of Sunday afternoon, police have not yet made an arrest.
