The husband of a local lawmaker was arraigned in Providence District court on Fraud Charges Thursday morning.
Henry Fellela, the husband of State Representative Deborha Fellella (D-Johnston), was officially arraigned on fraud charges. He is accused of intercepting a Shell gas station credit card and making more than $700 in fraudulent purchases.
At the arraignment police said that this is not Fellela's first run in with the law. They noted that aside from similar charges in 1995 in Rhode Island, Fellela has more recent charges in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.
Police said he has been previously been convicted in Rhode Island and the other states.
The judge kept his bail set at $25,000 personal recognizance which was originally set by a Justice of the Peace during his arraignment at the State Police Barracks.
His wife, Deborah Fellela was elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives in 2006.
