Rhode Island and Massachusetts State Police say they are looking for a suspect who claimed there was a bomb on two Peter Pan buses that would go off if the bus reached speeds below 50 miles per hour. The person was clearly motivated by the movie "Speed" which is based on the same premise. Unlike in the movie, this threat was a hoax.

The threats were phoned into the Peter Pan Call Center on Saturday morning and referenced two buses leaving from Providence.

The buses were stopped by State Police and no explosives where located on the vehicles. One bus was stopped in Exeter, RI and another in Chicopee, Mass.

The suspect could face criminal charges and may be liable to pay for the police response to the incident.

Police say it is possible that the prankster used a recording from the movie to make the threat however it is unclear if that is the case.
