A New Bedford man has been arrested and charged with murdering his girlfriend. 47–year-old Pedro Desousa will be arraigned on charges of murdering his 33–year–old girlfriend, Rebecca Felteau.
Police were called to a home on Ashland Place early Sunday morning for a domestic disturbance and when they got there, they found the suspect locked inside his bedroom. Police say he then jumped from a second floor window, and hid down the street under a vehicle.
Felteau was found dead inside the bedroom. Police believed the death to be a homicide. An autopsy is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
Desousa injured his back when he jumped from the window and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment. He remains hospitalized with back injuries and will be arraigned in the hospital on Monday.
