A 15-year-old has been taken into custody in Attleboro after he broke into his neighbor's home and attempted to kill her several times and sources close to the family say the whole thing was over a chicken.
The teenager broke into the home of his 63-year-old neighbor around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday evening after she refused to give him a chicken from her backyard coup. He waited for her to come home and when she did he attacked her. During a struggle the woman was stabbed multiple times in her torso and neck.
During the attack the teen took the neighbor against her will to a pond on the Seekonk Attleboro line where he attempted to drown her. After the unsuccessful attempt the teen then drove the woman to a third location where he attempted to clog the tailpipe of the car with clothing in an attempt to suffocate her.
While the teenager was attempting to clog the tailpipe the woman broke free, got behind the wheel of the car and fled the scene leaving the suspect behind. She drove herself to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and was then transported to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The 15-year-old was apprehended by Attleboro Police a short time late. He faces charges of attempted murder, home invasion, kidnapping, assault with intent to murder, intimidation of a witness, operating a motor vehicle without a license and assault and battery upon a person over 60 causing injury.
Police say the two, who live on the same street, were acquainted.
