WINTER STORM WARNING AND WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY as well as a WIND ADVISORY in
Providence until 1PM Friday. Heavy, wet snow (3-6") and strong winds (NNE 20-30,
G40-50 mph) will cause travel headaches and power outages across much of
southern New England over the next 24 to 36 hours.
• TIMING: Right into Friday morning
• WINDS: NNE winds 20-30 mph, gusting to 50 mph (higher on
Cape/Islands)
• IMPACTS: Roads may become slippery into Friday, and
power outages will also be possible
• COASTAL FLOODING: The eastern MA coast, including
Cape/Islands could see major flooding and beach erosion.
This storm will batter the area into Friday with wind and snow of varying
intensity.
The weekend looks good with sunshine both days and highs in the 40s.
