WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in Providence from 7AM Thursday until 1PM Friday. Heavy, wet snow (3-5") and strong winds (NNE 20-30, G40-50 mph) will cause travel headaches and power outages across much of southern New England over the next 24 to 36 hours.
• TIMING: Most of the accumulating snow will fall late Thursday into Friday morning
• WINDS: NNE winds 20-30 mph, gusting to 50 mph (higher on Cape/Islands)
• IMPACTS: Roads may become slippery especially late Thursday into Friday, and power outages will also be possible
• COASTAL FLOODING: The eastern MA coast, including Cape/Islands could see major flooding and beach erosion.
