Employees of San Antonio's Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort will take part in Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts "Biggest Loser" type Wellness Score Card Weight Loss and Fitness Challenge, earning prizes for learning and practicing better fitness and nutrition and making behavioral changes necessary for a healthy lifestyle.
Croton On Hudson, NY (PRWEB) March 06, 2013
“Be the change you like to see...” are words to live by for the employees of The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, home to Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts, the preeminent adult weight loss program in the country. Now, not only guests of the Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts program will be able to experience the benefits of the program's course of fun, fitness and delicious food, but the employees who serve those guests will too. The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort announced the start of The Biggest Changer Wellness Score Card Challenge to be held from March 1 to May 31, 2013.
For a $10 entry fee, participants are issued a Wellness Score Card and earn points for practicing healthy behaviors that have been proven critical for health, wellness, and lasting weight loss. They will be able to attend nutrition, fitness and wellness classes, reduced cost sessions with a registered dietitian, discounted metabolic testing and be guided to their healthy new routine by experts on the staff of Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts.
“The Biggest Changer Wellness Score Card Challenge is a fun way to acknowledge and award all healthy behaviors practiced for long-term change and weight loss management,” says Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts Co-Founder, Ziporah Janowski. “By focusing on all healthy behaviors, The Biggest Changer Wellness Score Card Challenge eliminates the unintended incentive for crash diets and other severe behaviors that undermine lasting healthy lifestyle changes and helps the participants create a new healthy lifestyle.”
A Biggest Changer Wellness Score Card Challenge has been created to help promote multiple basic healthy behaviors key for long-term weight loss, Nutrition, Fitness, and Behavior Change – the Four Cornerstones, Shane bases their program off of. Each participant gets a Shane Diet & Fitness Resorts Guide, defining what qualifications are necessary to earn points for each category and, using the honor system, check off each point-earning activity daily. Points are earned for fitness/exercise, nutrition/food choices and behavior changes created from the expert recommendations of the Shane team. By adding one new behavior each week, studies show, participants are more likely to incorporate the behavior into their daily lives even after the challenge is over.
Participants can earn additional weekly total points for recording their weight, declaring a goal, and hitting that goal. At the end of each week, participants report their weekly points total and any goals achieved to the Challenge Manager, who will report the totals and weekly winners to the participants and the Shane team. The winners of both the female and male categories will be awarded additional prizes (to be announced) but all participants are sure to take home one invaluable prize—a healthier lifestyle.
