Three individuals were arraigned on murder charges in Providence Superior Court as a result of a triple homicide that took place on General Street last July.
Russell Burrell,17, Quandell Husband, 16, and Timothy DeBritto 26 are accused of shooting and killing Sheemeeka Barros, 22, Michael Martin, 23, and Damien Colon, 22, during a robbery gone wrong.
It is alleged that the three entered Barros and Martin's apartment to commit robbery and when they saw Martin and Colon they shot and killed them. Barros was also shot after she was awoken by gun fire.
Three small children in the apartment remained unharmed.
Burrell, Husband, and DeBritto all pleaded not guilty during their arraignments. Burrell and Husband, both underage, will be tried as adults for the murders. A fourth man, Donnovann Hall, has pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery on Friday. His sentencing date has not yet been set.
DeBritto is currently serving a 50-year sentence after he was convicted in December of gunning down romantic rival, Gary Ellerbe. Ellerbe survived but suffered serious injuries.
During the incident DeBritto and Ellerbe got in a confrontation resulting in DeBritto shooting Ellerbe several times. During the trial it was reveal that Russell Burrell was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Burrell was not charged in connection with the Ellerbe shooting.
DeBritto was sentenced to two twenty year sentences and one ten years sentence to be served consecutively. The sentence rendered by Superior Court Justice Robert Krause exceeded sentencing guidelines for DeBritto's crimes.
