EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Three firefighters were rescued and are safe after becoming trapped inside a burning building Saturday night.
Police say a boarding house at 126 Walnut Street caught fire Saturday evening. The fire, according to police, started one of the bottom floors and quickly spread to the roof.
After crews arrived on scene and began to extinguish the fire, three firefighters became trapped on the third floor. However, they were freed when firefighters got an aerial ladder to a third-story window so the men could escape.
The house was completely destroyed.
There were no injuries and all residents made it out safely, according to police.
